Ruby Ann Thompson Smith of Geneva, AL passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020. She was 72 years old.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 04, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Hauser and Bro. Allen Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions can be made in Ann’s memory to Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
Ann was born on October 20, 1948 to the late Solomon Perry and Ruby Clyde King Thompson. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who believed in hard work. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, whom she adored with all her heart. She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and working in her yards and with her flowers. Ann was a faithful member of Trinity Church in Geneva. Ann worked many years at Fleming Foods and Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva, AL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Abbie Watson.
Ann is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert Cecil “RC” Smith of Geneva; two sons, William Jones (Andrea) of Dacula, GA, and Stephen Jones of Geneva, AL; eight grandchildren, Cole Jones, Kaylee Jones, Summer Jones, Seth Jones, and Jacob Jones all of Geneva, AL, Gavin McDaniel, Parker Jones, and Liam Jones all of Dacula, GA; one great-granddaughter, Elliana Jones of Enterprise, AL, 10 siblings, Mary Lou Smith, Lula Miller (Louie), Bennie Thompson, Geraldine Sellers, Clyde Thompson, Don Thompson (Belinda), Sue Cullifer (Bobby), Curtis Thompson (Paula), Sally Thompson, and Junior Thompson; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
