Ruby Dell Jackson, age 88, of Webb, AL passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 14, 2022 at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services for Ms. Jackson will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 2:00 PM EST at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens with Doug Smith, Mike Bryan, Brandon Josey, Rusty Smith, Will Hatcher, and Dustin Jackson serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM EST at the funeral home.
Ms. Jackson was born in Donalsonville, GA on Oct. 15, 1933, to the late Jessie Abner and Rosada Baker Helms. She worked as a beautician for many years and was of the Baptist faith. Listening to music, playing the guitar, and singing were some of her most enjoyable times. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and her love for her family was unmeasurable.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Diane Reese of Dothan, AL, Bert Jackson and his wife Vicki and Gale Smith and her husband Rusty all of Columbia, AL; her grandchildren, Jeff Braswell and his wife Susan, Tabitha Smith and her husband Doug, Manda Bryan and her husband Mike, Brooke Johnson, Dustin Jackson, Jackson Smith and his wife Anna, and Kaci Riley; her great grandchildren, Brandon Josey and his wife Alli, Emily Braswell, Morgan Hatcher, Will Hatcher, Leighton Bryan, Parker Johnson, Ivy Kate Smith, Kaleb Riley, Kaitlyn Riley, Josh Burke and his wife Tamara, and Dean Burke; as well as her great great grandchildren, Braden Bailey, Trace Bailey, Katy Josey, Addly Burke, and Everly Burke. Ms. Jackson is also survived by two brothers, Billy Helms and Bobby Helms and his wife Geneva and a sister, Yvette Reeder, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Abner and Rosada Baker Helms and two sisters, Evelyn Pritchard and Marie Anglin.
