Ruby Evelyn Adams Bell, age 87, of Cottonwood passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Hodgesville Baptist Church with Dr. John Granger officiating. A visitation will be held at 12:30 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hodgesville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruby Bell was born April 28, 1929 to the late Coy and Annie V. Adams. She enjoyed sewing, cooking attending church and reading her bible daily. Mrs. Ruby loved her family and the Lord. She would do anything for her family and would herself do without so they could have more. She was known for her outgoing personality and would make people laugh even in the worst of times. She was loved by everyone who knew her and she loved them as well. She was a member of Hodgesville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jake Whitten and Ira Bell; daughters, Carolyn Delores Whitten Courtney and Annie Sue Whitten Taylor; brothers, Donnis Hobbs and Joseph Adams; sisters, Gladys Parramore and Myrtice Adams.
Survivors include daughters, Kathryn J. Whitten Granger (John) of Enterprise, Janice Whitten Williams of Katy TX, and Pamela K. Bell Roberts (William L.) of Kennesaw GA. Grandchildren, April Herring, Denice Tipton, Charis Wallace, John Granger Jr., Richard Gibson, Yolanda Gibson, Steve Gibson, Tracy Wood, Buddy Wood, Michael Wood, Tammy Taylor, Tina Taylor, Michael Williams, Christopher Williams, Seaborn Bogert and Ethan Bogert; 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family will be accepting flowers or contributions to the charity of your choice.
A special Thank You to grandson-in-law Chris Herring, Tammy Lundy, Gwen and Morris Strickland of Hodgesville and Extendicare Health and Rehab, Kindred (Gentiva) Hospice, Home InStead Home Healthcare and to the physicians and staff of Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
