Ruby Gertrude Shivers, 94, of Dothan passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Extendicare Health and Rehab.

Memorial services will be 2 pm Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Shivers was born March 22, 1920 in Barbour County and lived there for over 25 years. She moved to East Liverpool, OH and lived there for 7 years until moving to Headland in 1975. She moved to Rehobeth in 1994. Ms. Shivers was employed as a nurse at the Salter Hospital in Eufaula and owned and operated the Busy Bee Grill. She enjoyed making beaded necklaces and was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Lythanial Smith; grandchildren, Melanie Smith, Sonja Priest, and Jeff Smith; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Quay Peel; sisters, Connie Hartzog and Laura Carter; special friends Shannon and Frank Clark and family.
