Ruby “Jeanette” Smith

Ruby “Jeanette” Smith, a resident of Ashford, AL, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at a local hospital. She was 83.

Jeanette was born on April 10, 1939 to the late General Lafayette and Leola Louise Summers in Dale County, AL and lived there the early years of her life. She was a seamstress for many years before becoming a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Smith and sisters, Lena (Charles) Sconyers, Faye (Huey) Sconyers and Margaret (Larry) Criswell.

Jeanette is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Eudon Smith; son, Donny (Susan) Smith; grandchildren, Victoria Ann Smith, John Hilton Smith, Cara (Chris) Summerlin and Cayla (Brandon) Cobb; great grandchildren, Katlynn, Cullen, Cameron, Ryles and Harper; 2 great great grandchildren; and sister, Hazel (Leroy) Amerson.
