Ruby Josephine Kyser Wilson of Geneva passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at her home. She was 70 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Reverend David Mason and grandson Matthew Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Ruby, the twin daughter of the late Charlie J. and Clara Ada Ruth Moring Kyser, was born on January 28, 1948. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Donald Ray Wilson; four siblings, her oldest brother—Charles Lamar Kyser (Martha); her twin brother—Joseph Ray Kyser; her baby brother—Farrell Leonice Kyser; and her only sister, Carmen Christine (Roland) Hussey.
Mrs. Wilson was a loving wife, momma, and mammaw to her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Coffee Springs High School Class of 1966. Prior to retiring in 1998, she spent 18 years driving a school bus for Coffee Springs High School and in her spare time, when she wasn’t cooking, sewing, gardening or shelling butterbeans and peas for the public while they lived in their first family home in Coffee Springs, she was the bookkeeper for the family business, Tri-State Telephones, Inc. for over 25 years. She was currently attending Center Ridge Methodist Church, Coffee Springs.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Kimberly Ruth Hathcock (Kenneth), Geneva; Denny Ray Wilson (Angie), Geneva; Donna Ann Hicks (Tommy) Westville, Florida; and Ricky Wayne Wilson (Nyoka) Houston, Texas. Her pride and joy—her 18 grandchildren: Kelcie LeeAnn, Kaleb Nathaniel, Kiera Clarice and Kanyen J’Scott Hathcock, Ashlyn Rae Barney (Robbie), Arianna Marie, Abbigail Haley, Allison Rebecca, Dakota Rayden, Anniston McKenzie, Donovan Riley, Alexis Shelby Wilson, Matthew David Hicks (Tara), Makala Danielle Hicks Ellenburg (Daimen), and Brandon Kyle and Austin Trevor Wilson, Phoenix Amanda Elder Wilson, Macy Michelle Williams. Three great-grandchildren—Daytona Richmond Wilson, Raelyn LeeAir Josephine and Madalyn Rebecca Barney. Sisters-in-Law Pastine Kyser, Coffee Springs; Betty Wilson Baird and Azilee Bailey Wilson, both of LaFollette, Tennessee; and Glenda Kyser of Enterprise. Aunt Ruby is also survived by over 100 very special nieces and nephews and a host of friends from all over the United States.
