Mrs. Ruby Nell (Henderson) Lingo, 81, a lifelong resident of Cottonwood, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church with Reverend Herschel Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Howards Grove Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m., prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Lingo was born May 5, 1943, in Dothan to the late Edward Ried & Maude Esther (Syfrett) Henderson. She spent her early years in the Cottonwood community, where she attended Cottonwood school. Mrs. Lingo worked most of her life as a seamstress at a sewing factory in Ashford. She enjoyed cooking, and most especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Lingo was a longtime member of Lovehill Assembly of God Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Viola Henderson; and 7 siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Lingo of Cottonwood; her two daughters, Theresa Brackin (Kevin) of Cottonwood, and Lisa Mitchell (Bob) of Ashford; five grandchildren, April Emanuel (Alex), Kayleigh Crow (Chase), Lexa Brackin, Becky Mitchell, and Robbie Mitchell.; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Home Health and SouthernCare Hospice for the compassion shown to their loved one.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Kem Henderson, Kevin Dixon, Chase Crow, Troy Brunner, Ronnie Goins, and Kevin Brackin.
