Russell Philip Austin, Jr., 56, of Dothan, passed away on November 2, 2018 in Marietta, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dothan Elks Lodge on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 2-4 p.m.

Russ was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Russell Philip Austin, Sr. and Nettie Louise Austin (Powell) on August 13, 1962. He was a long-haul truck driver for most of his life. Russ was preceded in death by his mother and father and by his son, Dustin Smith.

Russ is survived by his sisters: Cindy Strickland (John) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Peggy Richards of Montgomery, Alabama; a special cousin: Sharon Galpin of Dothan; nephews: James Eldredge of Lapeer, Michigan and Jeremy R. Alphord of Montgomery; nieces: Shannon Milstead of Destin, Florida and Starla Griffin of Dothan; great nieces: Kaleigh Harper and Jaycee Miranda of Montgomery; great nephew: Kyle Franklin of Montgomery; stepdaughter: Kia Beasley of Dothan; stepson: Dale Lisenby of Dothan, step-grandson: Brian Lisenby of Dothan; and furry companion: Cujo.
