Ruth Ivey, 96, of Webb, AL passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at her residence.

Graveside services will be 2 pm Friday, March 9, 2012 at Webb Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Newton officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the services. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to Webb United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 143, Webb, AL, 36376, or to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mrs. Ivey was preceded in death by her parents E.P. and Cassie Mercer; her husband Ben Ivey; 5 brothers, C.P. Mercer, Roy Mercer, Cooper Mercer, Arnold Mercer, and Edward Mercer; 3 sisters, Opal Petty, Lessie Mercer, and Pansey Mercer.

Survivors include her son Jan David Ivey of Webb; daughters, Brenda (Gean) Hendrix of Bainbridge, GA, and Nancy Stembridge of Webb; 4 grandchildren, Hans J. Walden of Ozark, Arthur B. Walden of New York, NY, Jayma Stembridge of Nevada, and Ben Stembridge of Texas; 2 step-grandchildren, James and Harold Hendrix of Fremont, CA; 2 great-grandchildren, Michael Walden of Troy, AL and Rebecca Walden of Ozark, AL; 4 step-great-grandchildren of California; a sister-in-law Vera Ivey of Webb.
