Ruth Kelley of Coffee Springs, AL passed away October 6, 2017 at SE Medical Center in Dothan. She was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. David Bradshaw and Rev. Hubert McWaters officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00AM until service time. Memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church of Coffee Springs, 434 Railroad Street, Coffee Springs, AL 36318.
Mrs. Kelley was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Coffee Springs for 76 years. She was a faithful worker in the Children’s Dept. for 50 years, a choir member, WMU director and served in various other areas of her church and community. She graduated from Coffee Springs High School in 1945. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Geneva and Chancellor, a faithful wife and homemaker.
Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Doris Miller of Geneva, AL and Nell Kelley of Waterloo, IN; a brother Harlan McWaters of Geneva, AL.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Sweitzer, Enterprise, AL; son, Michael Kelley (Teresa), Coffee Springs, AL; 5 grandchildren, Danny Kelley, Jr.(Ibolya), Tampa, FL, Julie Weatherford (Eric), Oakridge, TN, Stephanie Sowle (Ted), Parkville, MO, John Kelley II, Oakridge, TN, Michael Sweitzer (Amy), Oxford, OH; 13 great-grandchildren, Ella, Lily and Lila Sowle, Parkville, MO, Owen, Lane and Lorelei Sweitzer, Oxford, OH, Nicholas, Hunter and Josephine Kelley, Knoxville, TN, Iriz Kelley, Tampa, FL, Esther and Ursula Weatherford, Oakridge, TN, Julian Kelley, Oakridge, TN; 3 surviving brothers-in-law, Jim Kelley, Waterloo, IN, Mickey Kelley, Coffee Springs, AL, Joel Kelley, Jacksonville, FL.
