Ruth LaRue Hutchinson, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her residence. She was 89 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.


LaRue was born on April 8, 1931 in Salt Lake City, UT and also resided in Idaho. She was a registered nurse from 1952-1993. LaRue enjoyed decorating cakes and painting. She was a member of the Dothan Wiregrass Art League and was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.


Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Lester Hutchinson; her 4 children, David L. (Lupe) Hutchinson, Mark E. Hutchinson, Eve (Mark) Giroux, and Ann (Wayne) McAvoy; her 6 grandchildren, Brian (Courtney) Hutchinson, David Joshua Hutchinson, Janell (Richard) Sims, Andrea Claire Giroux, Louis Giroux, and Charles Giroux; her 4 great-grandchildren, Zoey Hutchinson, Owen Sims, Callum Sims, and soon to be Baby Sims; and her 2 half-brothers, Marcus Nielsen and Martin Nielsen.
