Ruth Spivey Keesling, 89, of Sanford, FL passed away July 9, 2017.


Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home from 12 to 2 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017. In lieu of flowers, if desdired, memorial contributions can be made to Spring Meadows Seventh-Day Adventist Church toward their building fund in memory of Ruth at 5783 N Ronald Reagan Blvd, Sanford, FL 32773. Also, Ruth Keesling Memorial donations will fund Emory Dementia and Alzheimer’s Research. Gifts will be accepted through Clayton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 734, Clayton, GA 30525.


Ruth was born to the late Coy and Aletha Graham in Dothan, Alabama, on January 6, 1928. Ruth was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She grew up on the farm in Dothan and resided there until moving with her first husband, Cecil Spivey, to Atlanta, Georgia in 1956. In 1968, the couple moved to Orlando. From Orlando, they moved to Jellico, Tennessee in 1979 where she continued work as a Medical Records Director. Previously, Ruth was a licensed beautician and hair dresser and owned her own shops in Dothan and Atlanta. After her first husband passed, Ruth moved from Jellico to Zephyrhills, Florida. She retired from the medical industry at age 65. In 1995, Ruth moved to Orlando and remained in central Florida. She was a people-person and always loved to be surrounded by people. She enjoyed crafting and was gifted with sewing, quilting, crocheting, and ceramics. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.


Ruth was preceded in passing by her first husband, Cecil Spivey; her second husband, David Carrico; her late husband, Eldon Keesling; her parents, Coy and Aletha Graham, 2 brothers; and 5 sisters.


She is survived by her children, Jan Campbell (Jim), Rick Spivey (Sharon), Lisa Tuten (Mikel), and Robin Baez; grandchildren, Richie Spivey, Natalie Inman, Ryan Spivey, Jamie Campbell, and Ashley Tuten; and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives.
