Sandra Jean Thompson, 76, of Chancellor, passed away from a heart attack on July 19, 2024.

Sandra was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was retired and found joy in the simple things in life. Her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren whom she dearly cherished.

She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Sandra enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling to new places and spending time with loved ones and friends. In her free time, she also enjoyed reading James Patterson books, attending church services, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. She will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious smile, and unwavering love for her family. Sandra had a contagious sense of humor and was known for her love of pinching, flipping, and laughing. If you were fortunate enough to be loved by her, you would know her for all these traits.

Sandra’s presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenna and Charles Jones, and beloved son, David Thompson, Jr.

Sandra is survived by her daughter Becky (Brian) Monaghan, grandson, Braidan Monaghan; her daughter-in-law Rachaell Thompson, grandsons Trenton and Gunner Thompson, granddaughter Natalie Burns and grandson, Dawson Burns; her sister Helen (Donald) Cochran, nieces Heather (Chris) Gentner and Holly (Robert) Kornegay; her brother Ken Jones, nephews Carey and Ethan Jones; her 3 great nieces and great nephew, many friends and extended family.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalms 73:26

Services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at The Crossing Church in Geneva. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Pastor Red Coleman will be officiating.
