Sang Thanh Nguyen, age 79, passed away Tuesday August 18, 2015 at his residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday August 20, 2015 at St. Columba Catholic Church Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Nguyen was born September 15, 1935 in Vietnam. He worked for the South Vietnam Government with Central Intelligence Agency for several years until the end of the Vietnam War. Following the war he was a political prisoner for 13 years in Vietnam and was freed from prison in 1988. He moved to the United States in 1991 and was employed with Globe Motors. Mr. Nguyen was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.

Survivors include his children, Danh (Linh) Nguyen, Tai (Lan) Nguyen, and Hong (Jeff Livingston) Nguyen; four grandchildren, Tyler Nguyen, Justin Nguyen, Katelynn Nguyen and Sarah Livingston; and his brother, Trong Nguyen.
