OZARK…... Mrs. Sara Kathrine Spears Childree, a resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday morning, October 8, 2019 at her home. She was 79.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 11, 2019 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in the Arguta Community. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Childree, daughter of the late Buford and Mary Merle Spears, was a native of Hartford, Alabama. She attended school in Hartford and later was employed as an inspector at White Knight Manufacturing in Ozark. Mrs. Childree soon met her husband, Alvie Childree, and they were married for thirty-one years prior to his death. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and homemaker.
Mrs. Childree was known for her sweet nature, kind heart, loving personality, and of course her never ending love and devotion to her family and friends. She was very skilled and had a gift in playing the piano. Mrs. Childree enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley on her record player. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Kay Childree.
Surviving relatives include her loving children, Paul Spears, Virginia, Alter Childree, Ozark, Drew Childree (Stephani), Wetumpka; Cleo Bowman (Britt), Eufaula, and Amy Sutton (Tommy), Ozark; grandchildren, Brian Bowman, Justin Bowman, Lisa Bowman, Amber Boozer (Keith), Alexis Childree, Connie Denise Mullins (Archie), Eric Sutton, Ryan Sutton, Matthew Childree, and McKenzie Childree; great-grandchildren, Cecily Boozer, Waylon Boozer, Laura Blair (Curtis), Alyssa Mullins, Cadence Mullins, Khloe Boozer, Austin Boozer, and Noah Sutton.
