ECHO COMMUNITY. . .Sarah Summers Fagan, a resident the Echo Community of Dale County, died early Friday morning, December 7, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was 78.


     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 10, 2018, in the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, near the Echo Community, with Reverend Jeff Lunsford and Dr. Carl Warden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.


     Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.


     Mrs. Fagan was born and reared in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, daughter of the late William Anderson Summers and Rosa Lee Grayson Summers. She lived in various locations in the United States, Germany and Hawaii while her husband served in the United States Army. She has been a resident of the New Hope Church Community since 2006. Mrs. Fagan was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Becky Jo Fagan, two sisters and four brothers.


     Surviving relatives include her husband, Reverend Frank Fagan, Sr.; two sons, Frank Fagan, Jr. (Lisa), Columbus, GA; and William Fagan, Douglasville, GA; a sister, Daisy Mae Walters, Petal, MS; a sister-in-law, Belinda Summers, Petal, MS; two grandchildren, Aaron Fagan and Evan Fagan.
