Sarah Vitilia McGowan Crutchfield of Geneva, AL went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She was 81 years old.


 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Devco Baptist Church in Geneva with Bro. Truman Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in the Eunola Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, June 9, 2024 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home chapel in Geneva. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Devco Baptist Church, c/o Annette Brooks, 1008 Sizemore Highway, Geneva, AL 36340.


 Mrs. Crutchfield was born on October 17, 1942 in Thomaston, GA to the late William Harvey and Essie Beatrice Brooks McGowan. She co-owned “The Busy Bee” maid service for many years. Mrs. Vitilia was a faithful member of Devco Baptist Church all of her adult life. While attending Devco Baptist Church, she served the Lord as VBS Director, church hostess, church clerk, member of Sisterhood, and taught many classes over the years. She did any job at the church that she was asked to do so she could serve the Lord. She was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, mother to her children and granny to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Troyace Crutchfield and son-in-law, Tim Dean.


 She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Miller (Glenn) of Black, AL, Derita Dean of Geneva, AL and LaTisa Weller (Billy) of Purvis, MS; one son, Brad Crutchfield of Geneva, AL; seven grandchildren, Denisha Dean Tidwell (Nicky) of Opelika, AL, Libby Miller Wallace (Justin) of Hartford, AL, Chelsie Dean Smith (Clay) of Hartford, AL, Judson Weller of Purvis, MS, Onna Crutchfield of Hartford, AL, Hampton Weller of Purvis, MS and Kenna Crutchfield of Hartford, AL; five great grandchildren, Troy Tidwell of Opelika, AL, Ella Wallace, Dean Smith, Millie Smith, and Noah Wallace, all of Hartford, AL; one sister, Vivian Adair of Geneva, AL; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, her church family and numerous friends.


 The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to all of the doctors and nurses who have cared for her over the years and Centerwell Home Health for the care this past year.
