Warren Scott Duke, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Panama City Beach, Florida. He was 53 years old.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
Scott was born May 29, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama to Martha Owen Duke and the late Dr. Jimmy B. Duke. He resided in Dothan most of his life and was a graduate of Northview High School. He attained his Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University as a Mechanical Engineer and was most recently employed with the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Cedar Springs, GA. Scott was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan. He was a Motocross enthusiast and loved to play golf in his spare time. He was also a Dye-Hard Auburn Football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Duke; a son, Jordan Scott Duke; a daughter, Ashleigh (Shane) Ellenburg; a step-daughter, Shelley Pruett; grandchildren, Parker, Delaney, and Dawson Ellenburg; his mother, Martha Owen Duke; brothers, Jimmy B. (Terrie) Duke, Jr., and Owen Tucker (Cheryl) Duke; numerous nieces and nephews.
