Seretha B. Singletary, 85, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013, at her home in Dothan.


A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church near Fadette, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice or Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.


Seretha was born November 3, 1927 in Geneva County, AL to the Reverend C.C. Balkcom and Daisy Thurman Balkcom. She attended Slocomb High School. Seretha was baptized at an early age and continued to be a faithful child of God. She was generous and kind to all, and a loving caregiver to those in need.


She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Webster Balkcom, Robert Balkcom, Edison Balkcom, and Pouncy Balkcom; one sister, Elmedia Coker; and a grandson, Trey Pruitt.


Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Robert W. Singletary; four children, Genell Macey (Railey), Randall Singletary (Becky), Geri Singletary, and Robin Poe (Johnny); grandchildren, Kim Macey, Michael Alexander, Steven Randall Singletary, II, Robbie Alexander, Kit Singletary, Kelly Macey, Ryan Pruitt, Laurin Singletary, and Karson Pruitt; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Skiles.
