Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Jones officiating. Burial with military and Dothan Police Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.

Sergeant Wallace Eugene Williams, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. He was 88 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Jones officiating. Burial with military and Dothan Police Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.
Mr. Williams was born on February 9, 1934 to J. D. and Nellie Hovey Williams. He met and married Nellie M. Williams on October 16, 1954. Mr. Williams proudly served in the United States Army for four years and worked at Ft. Rucker and with National Insurance. He worked with the Dothan Police Department for 23 years before retiring in 1985. He worshipped with Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, J. D. Williams, his mother, Nellie Ester Hovey, and his brothers, Carlos and Marcus.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nellie Williams; his two children, Joan M. Williams (Randy) Anderson and Melinda J. (Danny) Williams-Robbins; his three grandchildren, Chris (Michelle) Kilgore, Justin (Katie) Givens, and Amber (Austin) Hill; his six great grandchildren, Michael Chancey, Izzie Kilgore, Charlie Givens, Lucas Givens, Matt (Katie) Bennett, and Bryce Bennett; his great great grandchild, Caroline Bennett; his brother, John Douglas Williams; his three sisters, Catherine Jackson, Martha Price, and Margaret Bond; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jamey W., Austin Hill, Marc W., Kevin Moore, Justin G., and Michael C.
