Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 am. SGM Dixon retired from the United States Army after 27 years of faithful service, including the Post Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He received numerous awards during his distinguished career. He was a devoted member of Daleville Baptist Church in Daleville, AL and he loved to attend Daleville High School football games.
SGM (ret) Colvin Lanear Dixon was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Rosa Mae Dixon and his grandson, Austin Ryan Dixon.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol Dickerson Dixon, Daleville, AL; son Robert Dixon and daughter-in-law Carrie Dixon, Schertz, TX; son Jody Dixon and daughter-in-law Melissa Dixon, Chancellor, AL; his three surviving grandchildren Allen Dixon, Sara Dixon, and Katie Dixon; his brother Olen Dixon and sister-in-law Joyce, Palm Harbor, FL; his sister Kathleen Dickerson and brother in-law Lanier, Bryson, City, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
