COTTONWOOD. . .Sharon Watford Cureton, a resident of Cottonwood, died Thursday afternoon, December 21, 2023, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 70.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in the Hodgesville Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Cureton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. Cureton was born and reared in Dothan, daughter of the late Albert Watford and Jacqueline Whatley Watford. She lived in the Cottonwood area most of her lifetime. Mrs. Cureton was a member of the Hodgesville Baptist Church. In earlier years, she was employed by Dunbarton. Mrs. Cureton was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Eugene Cureton, a daughter, Judy Ann Cureton, a granddaughter, Leslie Cureton and a brother, Lamar Watford.
Surviving relatives include a son, Christopher Wayne Cureton, Dothan; a brother, Danny Watford (Lori), Ft. Walton Beach, FL; grandchildren, Skyler May, Christian Cureton (Joshua Thomas), and Olivia Cureton (Joshua Calhoun); great-grandchildren, Ava Bush, Rhylee Campbell, Rosanna Thomas, Sawyer Calhoun, Caroline May and Davina May; a sister-in-law, Sharon Watford, Cottonwood.
