Sheila LaFaye Mock Purvis of New Brockton, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. She was 67.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Snell and Bro. Levi Key officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Sheila’s memory.

Sheila was born in Samson, AL on April 28, 1957, to the late Pharon Phillip Mock and Frances Nadine Sellers Worley. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the assistant director at Wynnwood Assisted Living Facility in Enterprise, AL. Sheila has always been compassionate about children. For years she was the Children’s Church Pastor, first for Westside Assembly of God in Samson, AL, and then Wooten Chapel Assembly of God Church in New Brockton, AL. Later on in life she started to attend Holloway Tabernacle Assembly of God in Enterprise, AL, and was a member presently. She loved to fish and spend time with family and close friends. Most of all, she loved Jesus.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Purvis.

She is survived by two daughters, Shawna Rodriguez (Eric) of Nashville, TN, and MaDonna Medley (Trey) of Ft. Novosel, AL; five grandchildren, David Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez, Olivia Rodriguez all of Texas, Blaze Medley, and Josiah Medley both of Ft. Novosel, AL; siblings, Doval Mock (Pat) of Coffee Springs, AL, Shirlon Thorn (Wayne) of Coffee Springs, AL, Archie Mock of Coffee Springs, AL, and Jim Mock (Lisa) of Enterprise, AL; sister-in-law, Pat Adkison (Paul); nieces and nephews, Derrick Purvis (Erica), Shelby Mote (Justin), Chelsea Chandler (Tim), Johnny Mock (Cheryl), Jamey Mock, Phil Mock (Donna), Amanda Mock Smith (Bobby), Wade Thorn (Jill), Jody Thorn (Makisha), Todd Mock (Amber) and Tabitha Mock Davis (Michael).
