Sheila Lorraine Grimsley, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 lovingly surrounded by her family. She was 66 years old.
A celebration of Sheila’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Virginia Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in Sardis Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 10, 2023 from 4-6 pm.
Sheila was born on July 15, 1956 in Miami, Florida to the late Roosevelt Lindsey and Eloise Thompson. She lived in Pensacola, Florida the earlier years of her life and attended Washington High School. Sheila has lived in Dothan for the past 30 years where she enjoyed gathering with her family and friends to play bingo. She had two precious K-9 companions, Brewski and Tiger who will miss her dearly. Sheila attended Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Lindsey, her sisters, Gail Lindsey and Mazie Lindsey, her step-father, Samuel Jackson, and by her husband, Willie Grimsley.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Vanessa Young; her two sons, Ryan (Angela) Grimsley and Carlos (Michelle) Grimsley; her three grandchildren, Shekeyla Young, Aaliyah Balcom, and Rhaniya Grimsley; her mother, Eloise Jackson; her sisters, Angela Williams and Linnette Jackson; her step-sister, Stephanie Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
