SHELAR ELAINE KNIGHT HOLLIS
HEADLAND… Shelar Elaine Knight Hollis, a resident of the Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday night, January 23, 2024, at a Dothan hospital. She was 70.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday February 02, 2024, at Center Missionary Baptist Church in Newville, Alabama with Reverend Dexter Grimsley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel Thursday evening February 01, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. Hollis was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late J.B. Knight Sr. and Amie Lou Ross Knight. She was a 1972 graduate of Headland High School. Mrs. Hollis has lived in Henry County her entire life. She was employed as an inspector at Sony Corporation. She was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church, where she was very active, being involved in Sunday School, a member of the choir and served as a Deaconess.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, J.B. Knight Jr., Charles Knight, Mary Liza Knight, and grandchild Tamiah Hill.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her husband, Cleveland Hollis; her daughters, Kendra LaTosha Faulk (Travis), Kenya NaShae Williams, Natalie Denise Hollis and Nyia Deneen Hollis Turner (Johnny); her siblings, Dr. James Knight (Donna), Vondell Stringer, Annie Pearl Tharpe, Mildred Walker, Eddie Lois Ballard, Vera Thompson (Ray); her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Alma Banks (Napoleon), Mary Woodhouse (Clarence), Maggie Ladson, Rosie Lawrence, James Hollis (Jenny), Carl Hollis (Maxine), Harris Hollis (Gina); her grandchildren, Kianna Bryant (Allen), Javen Williams (Kiana), DeAndre Grimsley, Tevin White, Jada Williams and Dinah Faulk; her great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Chitty, Bryson Chitty, Javeah Williams, Dominic Williams and Dallyn Bryant; her special children Sharlene Morris (Calvin) and Frank Major (Dejona).
Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
