Sherrell Franklin Hamilton, age 71, of Daleville, AL, passed away, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 28, 2013 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Phillip Durr officiating. Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Daleville VFW Post 6020, 88 Hwy. 84 East, Daleville, AL 36322.
Mr. Hamilton served in the U. S. Army for 22 years. He received the following medals; Bronze Star, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1st OLC), Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (5 Campaigns), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Aircraft Crewmen Badge and Expert Badge (M-16 Rifle). He was a life member of VFW Post 6020 Daleville, AL.
Preceding Mr. Hamilton in death were his parents, Charles Edward and Lela Estell Robertson Hamilton, a brother, Thewell Eugene Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife, Sang Son Hamilton, Daleville, AL; daughter, Cheryl Lee Hamilton, Birmingham, AL; sister, Frankie Marie Kisselovich, Sylacauga, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Harold Dean and Claudette Hamilton, Remlap, AL.
