Shirley Faye Tindell, 86, of Cottonwood, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Cottonwood with Reverend Karl Hudson and Reverend Tommy White officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM Thursday prior to services.

Shirley, better known as Mama Shirley, was so dearly loved. She was married to the love of her life Earl for almost 73 years, and they truly shared a love story for the ages!

Shirley is survived by her husband James Earl Tindell; daughter Nancy Adams of Cottonwood, AL; daughter Sharon Sellers (Steve) of Auburn, AL; son James Tindell (Gretchen) of Auburn, AL; grandson Josh Adams (Lauren) of Daphne, AL; granddaughter Logan Tindell (Lucian Bloodworth) of Greenville, SC; grandson Lucas Tindell (Sydney) of Opelika, AL; great-grandchildren Harper and Cauley Adams of Daphne, AL; a sister Opal Westbrook (Mike) of Blountstown, FL; Barbara Gould (Charlie) of Cottonwood, AL; several beloved nieces and nephews and numerous friends, all of whom are considered cherished family members.

Shirley was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church of Cottonwood where she served faithfully in several capacities until she was no longer able; likewise, she was a longtime staff member of the Houston County School System (Cottonwood school) for many, many years.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Alma Gay and her son-in-law Bobby Adams.

Pallbearers will be Josh Adams, Lucas Tindell, Don Stewart, Bobby Stewart, Ron Stewart, Danny Taylor, and Michael Craig Stewart.
