Shirley Kassis, a resident of Dothan, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday, January 8, 2021. She was 80 years old.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Mrs. Kassis was born on August 16, 1940 in Sulligent, AL to John Lyster and Lucille Pinkerton and lived there the early years of her life. She lived in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Thornton Fractional High School in 1958. Mrs. Kassis lived in Seminole, Florida for 30 years prior to moving to Dothan where she was an active member of Oakhurst United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and worked with JCPenney’s for 30 years as a Floor Manager before her retirement. While living in Dothan, she attended Harvest United Methodist Church with her family.
Mrs. Kassis is preceded in death by her parents, John Lyster and Lucille Pinkerton, her husband, Nick Kassis, and by her son, Jeffrey Ray Lobaugh.
Survivors include her son, Craig (Juanita) Lobaugh; her grandchildren, Cynthia (Jamie) Holderfield, Justin (Magen) Lobaugh, Kayla Lobaugh, and Jennifer Zimmerman; and her 11 great grandchildren.
