Shirley was the loving daughter of the late James Ralph Brady and Georgia Lee Mauldin Brady. She was raised alongside her brothers, Gene, David, and James. After graduating from Wicksburg High School, Shirley embarked on a fulfilling career in banking, where she served her community for 47 years.

Known for her friendly and loving nature, Shirley was a cornerstone of her community. Her kindness was infectious, and she was always ready to share a smile or a warm word. She was a natural talker, always lighting up any room she entered with her lively conversations and genuine interest in others' lives.

Family was at the heart of Shirley's life. She was the devoted wife of Bobby Thompson and the proud mother of five children: Shawn (Chandra) Fowler, Heather Fowler, Deborah C. Neff, David Thompson, and Mark (Augie) Thompson. She was a cherished grandmother to J.T. Burnette, Devin Kite, Rowan Fowler, Pierce Fowler, Cooper Smith, Sybbi Thompson, and Stevie Thompson. She also had the joy of becoming a great-grandmother to Hutson Harris. Shirley is also survived by her brother, Gene (Karan) Brady. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, David and James Brady.

In her free time, Shirley loved to cook, creating delicious meals that brought her family together. She was also an avid shopper, finding joy in the hunt for the perfect item. Her social nature and love for people often found her at the heart of gatherings, sharing stories, and making others laugh.

Shirley's passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy, however, will continue to live on through the love and kindness she imparted to those around her. Shirley Faye Thompson was a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
