Specialist Lewis Jacquez Davies (United States Army), died Sunday, September 2, 2018.

SPC Lewis “Jack” Davies was born to Lewis and Temekia Davies in Ozark, Alabama on June 1, 1998.  Lewis received his education in Ozark City Schools and upon graduating from Carroll High School in 2016, he enlisted in the Army on April 27, 2016.  While serving in the Armed Forces, Lewis received the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal during his tour in Korea as a Motor Transport Operator. Other military honors include: National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Expert Marksmanship with Assigned Weapon. Lewis furthered his military career and experience as he accepted a second assignment to the 96th Transportation Company in Fort Hood, Texas, after successfully completing his tour in Korea. On November 15, 2017, Lewis was united in Holy and Loving Matrimony to Kirsten Davies. To that union a son, Kyren Davies, was born; and with loving embrace, Kirsten’s love extended to Isiah Davies who is the cherished son of Lewis Davies.  Lewis was known for being kind-hearted, humble and always being willing to help those in need. He was also known for his love of sweets, basketball skills and his appetite. Most of all, he was known for his love for the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE)…and his HEAD! He understood the need for sacrifices at a young age in life; he never gave up on his goals.  Lewis was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Jimmie and Patricia Carter, and Paternal Grandfather, Melvin.  Lewis leaves to cherish his life, legacy, and loving memories: his wife, Kirsten Davies; sons, Isiah and Kyren Davies; mother, Temekia Carter Davies;  father, Lewis (Christy) Davies;  paternal grandmother, Gail Watkins; father and mother-in-love, Charles and Jenifer Richardson; brothers, Kehan Carter, Trevon and Jayden Davies; stepbrothers, Drew and Avery Canady; stepsister, Lauren Canady and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and battle buddies.
