Mr. Robert L. Miles of New Brockton, AL, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012.  He was 78.

             The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 9, 2012, from 5 until 7 PM.  In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to: The American Heart Association, 3338-L Country Club Road PMB 305, Valdosta, GA 31605. 

            Mr. Miles retired from the US Army where he served in both Korean and Vietnam Wars.  He also retired from the Ft. Rucker Fire Dept. after 20 years. 

             Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Bell Miles; father, Robert L. Miles, Sr.; sister, Berlin Reed; brothers, Charles, Johnny, Hubert Ralph and Wayne Miles; daughter, Teri Miles; son, Ricky Miles.

             Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Miles, New Brockton; his daughter, Vicky Hughes (Dale), Enterprise, AL; a sister, Pat McNeal, Louisville, TN; brother, Bill Miles, Maryville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Cheryl O’Mary (Mike), Casey Allen (Chad) and Amber Fields (George);  5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
