DOTHAN. . .Stanley Amon “Hambone” Goff, Sr., a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday afternoon, October 25, 2017, at his home. He was 83.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 28, 2017, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
Mr. Goff was born in Newton and was reared in Ozark, son of the late Murray A. Goff and Gedelle Stanley Goff. He lived in Dothan most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Goff served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired as the Manager of both Pizza Huts in Dothan. In earlier years, Mr. Goff enjoyed entertaining others by playing the piano and guitar. He was a former member of the Rebels Golf Group at the Dothan Country Club. Mr. Goff was preceded in death by a son, Murray A. Goff, and two sisters, Frances Whitman and Imogene Goff.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Gedelle Wilkerson (David), Cottonwood; a son, Stanley A. Goff, Jr. (Jean), Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Eusebio Rodriguez (Alice), Murray Rodriguez (Morgan), Christy New (Blake Quattlebaum), Jason Tierce, Jeana Bright (Tony), and Jenny Sears (Mahlan); great-grandchildren, Triston, Mateo, Lillyana, Isabella, Landon, Aiden and Kolton Rodriguez, Haley Saucier, Jadeyn New, Brooklin New, Dillon Quattlebaum, Jack Tierce, Jaelyn Bright, Jade Bright, Savannah Miles, Hannah Sears and Landon Miles.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Kindred Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mr. Goff during his illness.
