Stanley Hobbs, Sr., of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home. He was 72.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 26, 2015 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Sonny Moore and Rev. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 North Main St., Enterprise, AL 36330.
Stanley was born in Defuniak Springs, FL and was a graduate of Troy University. He was the owner and operator of Harrell Milling Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Stan Windham’s Sunday School Class. His greatest pleasure was his family. He enjoyed his many friends, as well as fishing and golfing.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Hobbs, and his brother, Robert.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Hobbs, Enterprise, AL; 3 daughters, Leigh Ryan (John), Enterprise, AL, Lynn Cotter (Brian), Pensacola, FL, Leslie Watson (Ron), Dothan, AL; son, Stanley Hobbs, Jr. (Christy), Enterprise, AL; 8 granddaughters, Morgan Ryan, Enterprise, AL, Megan Ryan, Enterprise, AL, Mary Catherine Ryan, Enterprise, AL, Sara Watson, Dothan, AL, Hanna Watson, Dothan, AL, Rachel Watson, Dothan, AL, Emily Hobbs, Enterprise, AL, Olivia Hobbs, Enterprise, AL; and many other special relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff of First Baptist Church and the church family and DaySpring Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
