Stanley Jerome "Rowdy" Hobbs, 65, a resident of Newton passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at a local hospital.


The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home.


Rowdy was born December 22, 1951 in Blakely, GA and lived the early part of his life in Ashford. He owned and operated Hobbs Trucking for several years and later farmed for several years until the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing and hunting arrow heads. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Pamie Hobbs and by a brother Carl Hobbs.


Survivors include his children, Brandon Lance Hobbs and Candace Hobbs (Mike) Vann; his grandchildren, Tyler Vann (Briana) Sewell, Michael Wayne Vann, II, Seth Hobbs, and Marley Elizabeth Hobbs; his brothers, Lerry (Wanda) Hobbs and Jerry Hobbs; mother of his children, Joan Hobbs; several nieces and nephews.
