Stephen B. Godwin, 84, passed away December 18th, 2014. He was born in Ozark, AL and grew up in Clayton, AL. He was a graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) and got his Masters degree from California State University, Northridge. He worked several years in industrial manufacturing (St. Louis, MO) and later changed careers to work with the mentally challenged in vocational rehabilitation through the CETA Program, in California. Throughout his life, he was very involved with Amateur Radio. He was first licensed, as a ham radio operator in 1958 and was still active in the hobby. He lived several years in the Los Angeles, CA area. Later on, he moved to Tucson, AR and then to Key West, FL. He spent the last three years of his life in Dothan, AL. He is survived by his friend Jake Eckardt, and many friends in the ham radio community. He was always willing to help people and was a good friend. He will be missed. He will be interred at the Dothan City Cemetery, Monday, December 22nd, 2014 at 11:30 AM CST.
