Stephen Luther Mitchell, age 49, of Midland City passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his residence.

 

Born January 4, 1965 to Hilson Luther Adkins and Juanita Kirkland Gardner, Mr. Mitchell was an avid Alabama fan. He loved to fish, and play the guitar. He was a great athlete in school playing sports; baseball and football. His most favorite times were grilling and socializing with his family and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his sister, Tanya Griner, and Carol Dunn; and step-father Jerry Gardner.

 

Survivors include his daughters, Kathren (Gavin) Woods of Dothan, and Stephanie (Mario) Solorio of Dothan; sons, Corie Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL, and Christopher Wilson of Dothan, AL; sisters, Glenda (Mike) Dugas of Junction City, KS, Myra McCloud of Dothan, and Cynthia Douglas of Enterprise; brothers, twin, Steven Mitchell, and Wallace (Nikki) Mitchell of Level Plains, AL.; grandchildren, Julian, Talia, Adrian, Dakota, Tristan, and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held for Mr. Stephen Luther Mitchell on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

 

The family is accepting flowers.
