WICKSBURG…Mr. Stephen Paul Hanners, a resident of the Wicksburg Community, near Newton, died early Sunday morning, August 22, 2021, at his home. He was 48.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Duren officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Stephen was a native of Newton and was a 1991 Graduate of Dale County High School. He served in law enforcement for over fifteen years. Stephen owned and operated The Smoking Hole Deer Processing. He enjoyed providing catering for events and meeting people.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Chrystal Carpenter Hanners, Wicksburg; daughter, Isabella Warren, Newton; sons, Triston Hanners (Victoria), Blue Springs, Drew Hanners and Aidan Hanners, both of Newton; father, Howard Hanners, Ozark and mother, Nancy Hanners, Dothan; brother, Frederick Hanners (Candace), Wicksburg; two grandchildren, Everleigh Hanners and Jayson Hanners; mother of Triston and Drew, Wanda Childers Hanners.
Serving as honorary pallbearers, Kolby Weeks, Chris Bryan, Hunter White, Lennie Watson, Wesley Watson, and Loyd Jackson.
