STEPHEN PUGH GREEN
HEADLAND . . . Stephen Pugh (Stevie) Green, a resident of the Blackwood community, near Headland, died early Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2012 surrounded by his family at home. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 12, 2012, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Scotty Scott and Reverend Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Memorial Chairperson, P.O. Box 2123, Dothan, AL. 36305.
Stevie Green was a native of Dale County and was reared in the Sylvan Grove community, near Midland City, son of the late John Pugh Green and Bettye Powers Green. He was a graduate of the Dale County High School. Stevie moved to the Blackwood community seventeen years ago and was the owner and operator of the Steve Green Trucking Company. He attended Blackwood Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice Hodges Green, Headland; two daughters, Kelli Green Jones and husband, Mike, Weslaco, Texas; and Kristi Green Casey and husband, Joe, San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Kevin Green and wife, Monti, Midland City; and David Green, Reno, Nevada; six grandchildren, Chelsea Megan Jones, Clayton Forrest Jones, Hailey Nichole Neal, Evan Christopher Neal, Logan McKenzie Jones and Kendall Kaye Jones; mother of his daughters, Kim Kramer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Hodges family, Joe Lane and Pat Hodges, Kenneth and Diane Hodges and Anice and Mike Graves; his step-father-in-law, George Henderson and wife, Betty; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Joe Casey, Evan Neal, Brandon Green, Jeff Corbin, Joe Lane Hodges, Kenneth Hodges, Joey Hodges, and Andy Davis.
The family would like to thank family, church family and friends for their love and prayers. Also, they would like to thank Gentiva Hospice (formerly Wiregrass Hospice) for their support and loving care of Stevie.
