DOTHAN…Stephen Wayne Simons, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2016, at his home. He was 59.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2016, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in the Shorterville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary.

            Mr. Simons was born in Abbeville and reared in Jackson, Michigan. He lived in the Dothan area most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Simons was formerly employed by TCI Tire Center of Dothan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Mayo Simons.

            Surviving relatives include four daughters, Michelle Herr, Rachelle Simons, Rose Simons, Melissa Simons, all of Michigan; his father, Donald Wayne Simons; three sisters, Brenda Hunter (Dimas Falgado), Green Castle, Indiana; Charlotte McCullough (Tim McCoy), Abbeville; and Donna Buxton (Jeff), Spring City, TN; four brothers, Keith Simons and Donald Ray Simons both of Abbeville; Carey Dennis (Linda), Virginia; and Russell Simons, Dothan; and fourteen grandchildren.
