ABBEVILLE…Steve Chmelewski, a resident of the Baker’s Landing area of Henry County, died Friday evening, October 20, 2023 in the Crowne Health Care Facility in Eufaula,  He was 67.

             The family is honoring his wish for a simple cremation but will gather at a later date for a remembrance scattering.  Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Steve was born in Perry County, PA., son of the late Frank and Eleanor Chmelewski.  He lived much of his life in Pennsylvania and worked in the boat manufacturing industry as a fiberglass moulder.  He moved to the Baker’s Landing in 1995 where he enjoyed the remainder of his life.  Steve was of the Baptist Faith.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and David.

            Surviving is his only son, Robert Griffin of Bessemer and his special friends and caregivers, Nancy Wamble (Gary) of Abbeville.
