Susan Luverne Adams Bright, 84, of Dothan, AL passed away at Flowers Hospital on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
Susan was born on March 6, 1937 in Dothan to parents Robert M. and Doris H. Adams. She has two sisters, Jane Mihalik and Ann Kerbs. She attended Dothan public schools, graduating in 1955 from Dothan High School and continued her education at Troy University, completing 2 years of higher education. She married James W. Aldridge in 1960. Jimmy D. Bright was the second love of her life, being married in holy matrimony in 1990 in Holland.
Susan was a dedicated, faithful, hard working woman. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. The majority of her career was spent working for the United States government as a secretary including the Army, Air Force and State Department. She retired in 1990 from SHAPE (Supreme Headquarter of Allied Powers Europe), NATO Headquarters in Belgium.
Susan was an avid artist and will be remembered for her many artistics facets from painting, jewelry and knitting; even having many paintings in local galleries. In her spare time not working or creating art she could be found making memories traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Preceding Susan in life are her parents; husband Jimmy D. Bright; sister Jane Mihalik; and nephew Steve Mihalik.
Surviving family include her son, Bruce Aldridge; daughter Taryn (Kevin) Gillespie; grandchildren Zachary (Jessica) Aldridge and Olivia, Wesleyan and Keira Gillespie; sister Ann Kerbs; nieces and nephews Kent Kerbs, Karin Stone, and Lisa Mihalik Lucas; cousins Maryann Earnest and Carleen Flowers; and her four legged child, her dog Holly Bright
