Mrs. Syble M. Messer Phillips Hendrix of Hartford, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 08, 2020. She was 93.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Jess Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. until service time. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Chapel cemetery fund.
Mrs. Syble was born in Black, Alabama on September 01, 1926 to the late Andrew Walker and Jenny Pearl Daughtry Messer. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook, who was known for her homemade biscuits. She retired as a spinner from the cotton mill. Mrs. Syble was a devoted Christian lady, lovingly serving the Lord daily. She was a faithful member of Victory Tabernacle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, James Phillips, Jr; husband, Bill Hendrix; grandson, Jesse Allender, IV; two sons-in-law, B.J. Hart and Tommy Peterson; three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Syble is survived by four daughters, Jennifer Hart of Ft. McCoy, FL, Jamie Phillips of Hartford, AL; Rennie Peterson of Homosassa, FL and Paula Phillips of Hartford, AL; one son, James “Jimmy” Phillips, III (Kathy) of Dothan, AL; twelve grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
