DOTHAN. . .Syble Roney Lisenby, a resident of Dothan, died early Tuesday morning, October 4, 2022, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Thursday, October 6, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Michael Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in the Capps Community of Henry County. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P. M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 2864 South Brannon Stand Road, Dothan, AL 36305.
Mrs. Lisenby was born and reared in the Tolbert Community of Henry County, daughter of the late, Johnie B. Roney and Lois Maedell Johnson Roney. She lived most of her lifetime in Enterprise before moving to Dothan in 2003. Mrs. Lisenby was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Lisenby and two brothers, Johnny Roney and Jimmy Roney.
Surviving relatives include a son, Billy Jack Lisenby (Cathy), Dothan; two sisters, Margie Trawick (Hershel) Hampton, GA; Sherrin Johnson (Ronald), Dothan; sisters-in-law, Martha Kate Roney, Dothan; and Patsy Roney, Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Jared Lisenby and Cameron Lisenby (Caroline); several nieces and nephews.
