A graveside service to celebrate Terance’s life will be held at 2pm on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ashford, Alabama.
Terance Karl Bryant, a man of humor and deep kindness, passed away in Dothan, Alabama, on October 12, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on November 13, 1965, in Quincy, Florida, Terance, affectionately known as "Fats" by those who knew him best, grew up to be a figure of warmth and protection to all who had the pleasure of crossing his path.
Terance's journey led him from the sunshine of Florida to the vibrant streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1979, where he attended Simon Gratz High School. It was there that he discovered a passion for football, a sport that taught him the values of teamwork and perseverance. After high school, Terance entered the workforce, dedicating himself to various roles in grocery stores before becoming a respected crew leader at UPS in Pennsylvania. His work ethic and amiable nature left a lasting impression on his colleagues.
In 1999, Terance's life took an unexpected turn when he became disabled. Despite the challenges he faced, his spirit remained unbroken, and his sense of humor became a source of comfort and joy for those around him. Terance's love for conversation and his ability to find the funny in the mundane made every moment with him an uplifting experience. In 2016, he returned to Dothan, bringing his laughter and love back to his Southern roots.
Terance was a tasteful and simple man, whose presence was both comforting and invigorating. He was a loving individual who took his role as a protector seriously, always ready to support his friends and family. His sisters, Tara Waters (married to Andre Waters, Sr.) and Tamila Wilson, will forever cherish the memories of their brother's unwavering love and the unique bond they shared. He was a cherished son to his father, James Jr. Bryant, and a beloved uncle to Andre Waters II, as well as a kindhearted nephew to aunts Elizabeth Jackson and Maggie. He also leaves behind a host of loving cousins. Terance’s friends, Kerry Henderson and Shawn Ruffin, who were like brothers to him, along with his best friend, Kim, will miss the light he brought into their lives.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Annie Lee, who instilled in Terance the values of kindness and love that he carried with him throughout his life. Terance's legacy is one of laughter and love, and he will be remembered for the joy and kindness he brought into the world.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Terance Karl Bryant was a beacon of light for his family and friends, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him. He may have departed from this world, but his laughter, love, and the stories he shared will resonate for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Terance, for your journey was one of purpose, your life a poem of generosity, and your memory a treasure beyond measure.
