TERESA CAROL ADKINS HOLLEY
HEADLAND, AL… Teresa Carol Adkins Holley, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Sunday morning, October 22, 2023, at a Dothan Hospital. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
The family is accepting flowers or contributions may be made to the Headland Methodist Church, 103 West Church Street, Headland, Alabama 36345, or the Blanche R. Solomon Memorial Library, 17 Park Street, Headland, Alabama 36345.
Mrs. Holley was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late Malon Earl Adkins and Betty Jo Kelley Adkins. She lived her childhood in Dothan, Alabama and was a graduate of Dothan High School. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Education from Auburn University. After graduation she moved to Headland, Alabama and was the librarian for thirty-two years. While teaching she received her Masters of Education from Auburn University. She was a member of the Headland Methodist Church.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William H. “Bill” Holley, Jr..
Leaving to cherish her memories is her daughter, Jennifer J. “J.J”. Holley (Brad Sanders); her son, William H. “Will” Holley, III; her sisters, Gypsie Diane Richardson (Gene) and Nancy Adkins Austin (Brad); her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Caneer; and her grandsons, Hunter Douglas Smith (Emily) and David B. Baker.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Will Holley, Hunter Smith, David Baker, Brad Sanders, Mason Singletary, Andy Davis, and Colby Willoughby.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Sue Golden (Teresa’s caregiver, which became a part of the family) for her love and devotion, and also a special thank you to the 6th Floor nurses at Southeast Health, and to Dr. Arielle Dahlin for their excellent level of care.
