Terry was born May 22, 1956, in Marianna, FL to Jerry Lamar Porter and Mary Camp Porter. She spent her early years in Chipley and Panama City and was a 1974 graduate of Bay High School. She also attended Gulf Coast College. Terry was the director of the business office at Gulf Coast Hospital for 28 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Memphis Baptist Church.
One of the most important things Terry leaves to her family is a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ. She used the gifts, skills and knowledge God gave her to serve the many people who had the privilege to know her. Terry was a student and lover of the Bible and loved to share with others what she learned through her gift of teaching. Through the years, she led and facilitated a myriad of Bible studies. She used her love of cooking and her gift of hospitality to create a loving and warm environment for fellowship and learning among family and friends. Terry used her musical talent to lead in worship, celebrate marriages and console the grieving. She was a friend and confidant who shared her wisdom to encourage and embolden those around her. Terry could always be counted on to intercede in prayer for any and all. She loved to have fun whether it was with her family or her friends. Her smile and laugh were infectious. Terry was a beloved wife and perfect helpmate, a tender and loving mother and grandmother whose life of rare and beautiful service more than fulfilled it wide opportunities.
She is preceded in death by her father.
