Terry L. Collins, a lifetime resident of Dothan, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, following a battle with ALS.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Covenant United Methodist Church with Reverend Hays McKay, Reverend Kyle Gatlin, and Reverend Randy Woodham officiating. A Eulogy will be delivered by Bobby Pierce. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at Covenant United Methodist Church from 12 to 2:30 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2011, prior to the service. The family requests no flowers but memorials may be made to the ALS Association, AL Chapter, P.O. Box 2888, Huntsville, AL 35804-2888, or to Covenant United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Terry was a 1973, graduate of Dothan High School and a graduate of Troy State University. He served as Football/Baseball Coach and teacher at Ashford High School, and teacher, head Baseball and Assistant Football Coach at Dothan High School. Terry was a retired administrator from Dothan High School. He is the founder and president of ScreenTech. He is a member of Covenant United Methodist and also a member of many service organizations in the Dothan Wiregrass area.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Singletary Collins in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Womack Collins, daughter, Stephanie Crawford and husband, John, grandson, Cole Crawford, father, Donald L. Collins and his wife, Nell, brother, Shannon R. Collins and his wife, Charmin, and a very special aunt, Joan S. Jones, all of Dothan.
Pallbearers will be Bob Shelley, Randall Williams, Hank Kennedy, Larry Norris, Billy Thorne, Larry Patrick, Jimmy Addison, and Phil Hardy.
Honorary pallbearers will be the “ScreenTech family of employees.”
A special thank you to Tracey Carter and Amanda Lewis for their love and care, and a special thank you to all of Dothan for their support.
