Terry LaFate Turner, of Newton, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 57.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church in Newton with Rev. Mike Griggs and his brother, Bimbo Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel from 6-8 on Monday night. Terry will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Tuesday.
Terry was born August 3, 1959 in Dothan, Alabama and lived most all of his life in Dale County. He was engaged in the concrete business most all of his working career. He worked with Concrete Incorporated for over 30 years and was currently employed with Ready Mix, U.S.A. Terry enjoyed the outdoors, riding his Harley and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Newton.
Terry is predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Ethel Turner.
He is survived by his fiancé, Phyllis Ledbetter of Echo; two daughters, Trina Livingston (David) and Kristy Weed (Jeff), all of Newton; six grandchildren, Tanner Livingston, Ansleigh Livingston, Cole Weed, Maddox Weed, Aidan Weed and Ava Claire Weed, all of Newton; two sisters and a brother, Linda Griggs (Robert) of Newton, Bimbo Turner (Sheri) and Teresa Bond (Jim), all of Newton; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
