HEADLAND. . .Thelma Helton Volf, a resident of the Capps Community of Henry County, died Friday morning, January 11, 2019, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 91.


     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2019, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.


     Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Encompass Hospice, 3230 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 1, Dothan, AL 36303.


     Mrs. Volf was born and reared in the Wesley Community of Henry County, daughter of the late James Helton and Mamie Iris Money Helton. She moved to the Capps Community of Henry County in 1970. Mrs. Volf was a member of the Union Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Keith Volf, three sisters, Verna Mae Boyett, Iris Bradley and Lucille Armstrong and two brothers, James Robert Helton and Roy Helton.


     Surviving relatives include her husband, Joel Gene Volf, Sr.; a son, Gene Volf (Cindy), Abbeville; three grandchildren, Alan Volf, Kyle Volf and Jacy Volf; three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Volf, Braiden Volf and Addison Volf.


     Serving as active pallbearers will be Kyle Volf, Alan Volf, Joseph Cook, David Price, Blake Volf and Merlin Volf.
