THELMA DAVIS WHATLEY
HEADLAND. . .Thelma Davis Whatley, a former resident of Headland, died Monday morning, February 18, 2013, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in the Gardens of Memory mausoleum with Reverend James Nance officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Whatley was born and reared in the Pleasant Plains Community of Houston County, daughter of the late Quintus Lamar Davis and Bertie B. Maddox Davis. She had been a resident of Headland since 1950. Mrs. Whatley was a retired employee of Coffman International. She was also formerly employed by Tinker Equipment Company and International Harvester. Mrs. Whatley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Katie Nell Pitts and Lucille Davis Adams.
Surviving relatives include a niece, Barbara Everett and husband, Terry, Rehobeth; nephews, Roy E. Johnson, and Billy Joe Pitts, both of Dothan; a great-niece, Billye Jo Pitts, Orlando, FL; a great-nephew, Ken Johnson, McDonough, GA.
